AGES PAST COUNTRY INN BED & BREAKFAST

Would you like to own a turnkey business that: is established, had a 2008 30.7 occupancy rate, has returning customers and verbal agreements with at least three area businesses to host clients and business associates when they are in town, has a history that includes providing lodging and fine dining to movie stars and professional musicians, comes with an offer from the current owners to provide 30 to 60 days of free consultation to a new owner? Ages Past Country Inn Bed & Breakfast is set up for continued success. Ages Past Country Inn has been an established Bed and Breakfast since May of 1997. After being built in 1898 by John Cremer for his lovely bride, this 111-year-old Victorian home was purchased by the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in 1918 to be used as a rectory for its resident priests. In 1996 the current owners, purchased and totally renovated and redecorated this 7500 square foot home restoring it to its original grandeur. The guests who come and stay at Ages Past Country Inn can choose between seven different rooms three of which are suites and all which have their own bathroom. The bedrooms and suites are elegantly decorated. You will find king sized mahogany beds from Indonesia, oak furniture from Europe, a turn of the century armoire and side table from Belgium, four poster king and queen sized beds, fireplaces, beautiful stain glass windows, authentic signed carpets from the Middle East (one of which is 120-years-old), a Chinese sculpted carpet, and chandeliers from Belgium dating back the 1800's all of which reflect the décor of this home. Everything you see in the pictures, except for a couple of paintings and a few other personal items, is being sold with this B & B business. After their second successful season as a B&B Carl and Barbara, the current owners, added their European gourmet restaurant. Gourmet entrees are served at the Back Door Café which can be transformed into a formal dining room. Guests can enjoy a cocktail before dinner or bottle of fine wine during their meal. Afterwards there is an opportunity to enjoy a cool summer evening relaxing on the large covered front porch, the deck, or the patio area. It is very common for the Amish to pass buy with their horse and buggy adding a charm that is unique to the area. Other features of this home include lounges, foyers, a kitchen, a reception room, and two laundry areas with a total of three washers and three dryers. There is a full apartment in the basement level. This apartment is where the current owners live. It has a full kitchen (which in 2008 received $10,000 worth of improvements), a living room/ bedroom combination, and a whirlpool two-person tub and shower. The apartment could be rented out as a fourth suite making a total of eight rooms for guests. This turnkey business comes with a computer system which includes a full access website that an owner can run from a remote location. There is also an online reservation program that has greatly added to the convenience of scheduling and confirming guests’ requests for lodging and dining. Barbara and Carl have put great pride and much effort into building their business and beautifying this home? They continue to update and improve the B & B. When something needs repair, it gets repaired; when updating is required they tend to it. Every two years the linens are replaced with new linens. Since the major renovation in 1996, more recent improvements include new central air conditioning in 2000, a new hot water heater in 2005, and an upgraded electrical system in 1998 (the owners report that about 80% of the electrical has been updated), about 85% of the windows were replaced about 10-years-ago. There is also a four-car garage which has two single garage spaces, one of which is heated, and one double sized garage door parking area. Located in the rural community of Cashton Wisconsin, it is only 15 minutes from the interstate. Guests who like the outdoors come to bike the Sparta/Elroy bike trail, canoe the Kickapoo River, or hike in Wildcat Mountain State Park. Some of the best trout fishing in the country is in nearby Vernon County. The Mississippi River bordered by its grand bluffs provides boating, fishing, swimming and sightseeing. There are opportunities for horseback riding, cross country skiing, golf, snowmobiling and downhill skiing. Guests can also take in one of the many festivals of neighboring communities. For the shopper, the Amish community offers unique opportunities as do the antique stores. Many of Ages Past Country Inn’s guests are here on business and the new Organic Valley facility or new bio-diesel production plant keeps the reservations coming. We hope any interested buyers will take the time to view these pictures and learn out more about Ages Past Country Inn. There is too much to mention and so much to experience.
