United
Country Brings Industry Experts
to
Kansas City Convention to
Address Real Estate Trends
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (February 5,
2008)—You hear it almost daily:
The real estate market is
slumping, and things aren’t
looking bright in the future.
That might be the message for
some in the real estate market,
but it’s not the case for those
served by Kansas City-based
United Country Real Estate,
which just concluded its best
year since the company’s
founding in 1925. United Country
is the only national real estate
franchise system specializing in
residential, second home,
vacation home, retirement,
recreational, farm, ranch, and
commercial properties in and
around small cities and towns
across America.
United Country Real Estate will
kick off its 2008 National
Convention in Kansas City
February 21-24
with an upbeat
message for its more than 4,000
agents and 700 offices located
across the United States. About
1,000 of United Country’s top
office owners, brokers and
agents are expected for the
event at
the Westin Crown
Center.
Various market factors have
positively impacted United
Country’s business, according to
Dan Duffy,
chief executive
officer.
“Many things have kept our
business moving upward: more
affluent urban buyers can
finance their own property
purchases; less new development;
unique, one-of-a-kind
properties; more stable local
economies; and increased demand
from a well-documented urban to
rural migration are just a few
of these,” Duffy said. “Our
unique, proprietary and proven
marketing program that brings
affluent urban buyers to
hard-to-find rural agents has
driven significant new office
growth.”
Keynote speakers at the
convention include Steve Murray,
30-year industry expert and
editor of “REAL Trends,” a trade
publication recognized as one of
the leading sources for real
estate research, analysis and
insight in the industry. Murray
will provide his unique
perspective into where the real
estate market is headed and what
can be done to take advantage of
it. Also scheduled to speak is
Tom Lundstedt, leading real
estate expert and consultant,
who will explore investment and
tax strategies for the real
estate industry, buyers, sellers
and agents.
Key issues to be covered during
the conference include the
growing importance of technology
in real estate today, marketing,
financing options, search engine
optimization, sales strategies,
auction services and trends in
commercial real estate.
Saturday’s session will conclude
with an evening awards ceremony
recognizing some of the fastest
growing offices and most
successful agents in rural
American real estate.
“This year’s convention will
provide attendees with market
insights and valuable tools they
can use to continue growing
their businesses,” Duffy said.
“We’re also excited to be able
to show visitors from around the
country the dynamic and
progressive nature of Kansas
City, home of our corporate
headquarters for more than 83
years.”
Also attending the convention as
major sponsors and speakers will
be a select group of leading
industry service and strategic
companies. These sponsors will
