Auction Marketing Produces Immediate Results

Team Up for Multimillion Dollar Sale

December 15, 2009 (KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – As a result of a strategic alliance between United Country Auction Services, a division of United Country Real Estate (United Country), and Colliers International (Colliers), two commercial call centers in Beckley, W.Va., and Charleston, W.Va., recently sold.   

The commercial call centers were listed previously with a commercial brokerage in West Virginia for more than a year and had not sold. The sellers, TRG (The Resource Group), engaged with Randy Burdette,
a broker/auctioneer with United Country – Riverbend USA in Alderson, W.Va., to market and sell both properties at public auction. Though the former listing company had an interested party, it was unable
to receive an offer. Within the first week of auction advertising, however, that buyer submitted a cash
offer and closed on the Charleston property within 20 days. The Beckley call center went to auction
and sold for $1.6 million to a local buyer.

“In my mind there’s no doubt that without using the auction method and the United Country/Colliers partnership, these properties would have remained on the market or would have sold for a much smaller amount,” said Burdette. “However, thanks to the accelerated marketing efforts of United Country and Colliers, they were sold in a timely manner and exceeded the sellers expectations.”
