United
Country Real Estate’s Auction
Division Earns
International Marketing Awards
May
2008 (KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – The
National Auctioneers Association
(NAA) announced today that
United Country Auction Services
was named winner of the 2008 NAA
Marketing Competition in the
Auction Printed Materials,
Multi-Color, Business
Liquidations category.
“The brochure we entered into
the competition was part of a
comprehensive marketing campaign
for a catfish plant in
Brooksville, Mississippi,” said
Kevin Oldham, director of
marketing for United Country
Auction Services. “The business
had closed, taking hundreds of
jobs and the local economy with
it, so selling the property was
crucial to the community. Our
marketing materials – including
the brochure – brought the right
buyers to our auction last
summer and resulted in a sale to
Koch Foods, one of the nation’s
largest integrated poultry
companies, who plans to reopen
the plant and revive the
Brooksville economy.”
The NAA’s annual marketing
competition allows its almost
6,000 members located in the
United States, Canada
and across the world to
highlight their innovative
creations from the past year and
vie for top awards for their
marketing and advertising
materials. The 2008 competition
was sponsored by USA TODAY,
and according to
Chris Longly, public affairs
manager for NAA, judges reviewed
more than
1,300 entries – the
most entries ever submitted in
the history of the competition.
Mike Jones, CAI, GPPA, president
of United Country Auction
Services, attributes much of
this brochure’s
success to the United Country
graphics team.
“Michele Frisby [director of
production and graphics] and
Angela Searcy [graphics
supervisor] do fantastic
work for our company and for our
affiliates. This brochure is
just one more example of their
creativity and
talent. And the brochure – as
well as the entire marketing
campaign for this auction – is
further evidence of
United Country Auction Services’
ability to promote property in a
unique and effective fashion.”
Two United Country affiliates
also earned top honors. United
Country – The Redfield Group of
Gadsden, Ala., achieved Best
Member Web Site Home Page, and
United Country – Musser Brothers
Auctions &
Real Estate of
Kennewick, Wash., earned an
award for Best Online Catalog in
the Farm Machinery and Equipment
category.
All winners will be formally
recognized during the NAA
Marketing Competition Awards
Reception which will
take place on Thursday, July 10,
at the 59th
International Auctioneers
Conference and Show in
Nashville.
