Garnett Kansas Area Recreation

"America's Hometown"
A Rich Sense Of Tradition & Classic American Family Values

Lake Garnett is a body of water in town that boasts over 55 acres of surface area. This is a great place for boating, swimming, water skiing and fishing. Public boat ramps and courtesy docks provide water access.

There are also playgrounds, trails, a swimming pool, football field, skeet range and picnic areas. The go-kart racing track known as the Lake Garnett Speedway is also located on these shores. It was once used for national sports car racing from 1959 to 1972.
Crystal Lake is another spot for water recreation in Garnett. This lake offers small craft boating, fishing, camping, picnicking and play areas.

The downtown business district, known as "The Square" to locals, is a showcase of graceful structures built in the late 19th century. Today, these buildings house clothing & gift stores, antique shops, banks and restaurants.

The Prairie Spirit Rail Trail is a 50-mile biking trail that winds through the city limits. Cyclists will ride past Lake Garnett and Crystal Lake, nostalgic streetlights and fields of flowers.
