Recreation
opportunities abound in Wells County. If you love outdoor recreation,
you can spend time enjoying the sights and sounds of nature in any of
the local parks.
Area recreation destinations include Markle State Recreation Area and
Ouabache State, which features a wildlife exhibit, Olympic size pool,
boating and fishing on Kunkel Lake, campsites, hiking and cross
country skiing trails, tennis and basketball courts, a 100-ft fire
tower, large open and enclosed pavilions, and more. The Wabash River
provides beautiful scenery along with many recreational and
entertaining activities. The Rivergreenway Trail runs along the river
from downtown all the way into Ouabache State Park. The Kehoe Park and
Amphitheater also sits along the Wabash River.
Two large reservoirs are
situated on Huntington County's south side. Salamonie Reservoir and J.
Edward Roush Lake are state recreation areas offering family camping
and miles of trails for hiking and biking in summer and cross country
skiing and snowmobiling in winter. |

Both reservoirs
provide swimming beaches, fishing, boating, water skiing and other
water sports.
As you can tell, there is much to see and do in the Markle area and
Wells and Huntington counties. If you're looking for a new home,
business or other property, come by our United Country office soon
and take a look at the many real estate values we offer.
