In high school he was awarded the Citizenship Medal and DeKalb Young Farmer Award. He got his start in real estate, negotiating land purchases and lignite leases for North American Coal Corporation. Marty has a degree in Agriculture and Education. He spent most of his early career managing timberland, reclaimed mine land and wildlife for two large US corporations and the public. He also spent 10 years in Austin Texas and Washington DC as the Government Relations Manager for North American Coal Corp. Marty was selected by his peers as the Longview Area Association of Realtors, Realtor Rookie of the year in 2007. He was also selected Best Realtor in East Texas 2013 by the Longview News Journal. He has earned the Accredited Real Estate Professional (AREP) designation. Marty and his wife, Leanna, enjoy spending time with grandchildren and fishing for monster catfish and crappie. They are member of Church on the Rock in Daingerfield. She loves to fish as much as he does. They can usually be found cheering on the granddaughter’s softball team somewhere in Texas. They love the lakes and rivers of East Texas.
