Dereck joined the company in 2012 and obtained his broker's license in 2017. Over the course of his career, he has a proven record of successfully serving the needs of his clients in buying and selling farms, ranches, homes and commercial properties. He has been involved in many multimillion-dollar transactions and has the experience necessary to successfully handle these in-depth and often complex deals. Dereck has extensive experience with live water properties, recreational and investment ranches, the 1031 exchange process, multi-parcel contingency transactions, off-market transactions, ranch development, water development, wind and mineral rights, luxury homes and commercial properties. His knowledge of local and regional markets are a huge asset to anyone, whether they're buying or selling.
Prior to joining United Country Real Estate | 1836 Realty Group, Dereck earned a bachelor's degree in General Business from UTSA in San Antonio, and started working in the sitework construction industry. Dereck was intricately involved in all aspects of the industry from operating heavy equipment to the estimating and bidding process. With his background in business and construction, he adds immeasurable value to his clients deals by being able to advise them on the true potential and value of a property. He has done this on numerous occasions and helped his clients assess the cost and benefit of improving certain properties for investment, recreational or operational purposes.
Dereck has always had a passion for the outdoors and the Texas Hill Country. While growing up in the Kendall County area, he was blessed with the opportunity to experience everything the hill country has to offer; the beautiful Cypress-lined Guadalupe River, live water creeks and spring-fed streams, scenic hilltop views, and great recreational hunting. Dereck, his wife Kylie and their five children live in the Kerrville area, and are active in their church as well as their kids' many sporting activities.
