Born and raised on a beef cattle and burley tobacco farm in far western Virginia, Marcus Gilbert gained invaluable life lessons when his family later transitioned to the dairy business. These early experiences fostered his deep understanding of the unique challenges facing farm families and business owners.

With 38 years of experience in real estate sales and auctions, Marcus specializes in land, farms, and lifestyle properties. Throughout his distinguished career, he has conducted or participated in hundreds of auctions including real estate, farm and construction equipment, estates, business liquidations, and trustee sales.

Marcus's expertise has led to his testimony as a Subject Matter Expert regarding impacts to property owners from eminent domain, rights of way, and owner disputes. Among his notable achievements is selling the very hospital where he was born.

Currently residing in Wirtz, VA (Smith Mountain Lake) with his wife of over 40 years, Marcus is a proud father and grandfather. He enjoys lake activities with family, cookouts, bonfires, outdoor adventures, and has a passion for old trucks and tractors.
